KW: Tell us about Eric’s Story.
IG: Eric Taylor has had a love for motocross since he was a little boy, and has always enjoyed active sports. He has been riding motocross for a total of 7 years now, and maintains a sterling rating of 431 out of 1,750 riders. As a promising 19 year old living in Dallas, Texas, this is his first year joining tryouts for Loretta Lynn’s AMA National Motocross Championships.
KW: Sounds like Eric has great potential. So what is preventing him from achieving that goal of becoming a Motocross star?
IG: Coming from a family with limited means, Eric has put his heart and soul into motocross, and what little money he and his family have been able to save up has gone into investing in his potential motocross career.
Rhonda Taylor, Eric Taylor's single mother and tireless supporter, has recently spent her entire savings (well over $150,000) to give her son the chance at the Rocky Mountain Amateur AMA National Motocross Championships (since 1982) and AMA ATV Motocross Championship (since 1985). A track used so little ensures a fair playing field, and no "hometown advantage," since no one will have a chance to ride or race on it before the rest of the competition arrives.
KW: That's a very touching story. Spending over $150,000 of her own savings to support her child's dream, it really shows how much Eric's mother really love him and see his dreams come true. How can the crowdfunding community contribute?
IG: Eric has never loved anything as much as he loves motocross, and really has dedicated his entire life to it. The fact that his mother was not able to raise quite enough money to send him to the competition was devastating to the family, and the reason we are appealing to the crowdfund community to help support his cause and donate to send him to the finals. This competition is incredibly important to his future career in motocross, and it has become his entire family’s mission to send him if at all possible. Your donation can help him get there!
