When we think about startups we think that someone must have gone to school studied in a field of their passion and decided to start a business. In this interview we want to highlight that sometimes a startup can stem from a personal problem someoen has experienced and he decides to create a solution to address this problem so others wont have to go through what he went through. Joining us is Malcom from 6 Figure Talent
KW: Hello Malcom thank you for your time please tell us about yourself and about 6 figures:
6F: Thank you for having me over. I bit about myself. I have earned over $100,000 for over 15 years yet one day I loss my job and I was in the job market once again. The executive job sites which promised 6 figure job listings were expensive and very inefficient. After signing up with these sites I found myself constantly being peddled various services said to increase my chances of being hired. These services along with the membership fees for the site became far too expensive as I had no income coming and no real success with either job search site. The experience led me to create the site in which shall launch on 9-1-2015.
KW: The recruiting industry definitely has a lot of space to grow and it is wonderful how you are providing a solution based on the pains you have received. Tell us about what makes your site different from others?
6F: I’m glad you ask, firstly our site not only lists job salary ranges but benefits as well, we also charge NO MEMBERSHIP FEES. We ensure that service Providers must be given permission by our end user before being able to solicit them. We allow applicants to build profiles which allow employers to know what salary range, benefit package and work life each candidate is looking for to ensure proper fit and reduce job dissatisfaction and churn. Lastly applicants can use GEOCODING to ensure they know of any job openings in a chosen area
KW: That’s great to hear, now tell us about yourself and how you got started:
6F: Our campaign is via GoFundMe. It launches officially on 7-13-2015. I have released 3 press releases, created a social media platform with 15,000 followers(Twitter,Facebook,Linkedin). I have two company spokesperson videos being created now. I have a campaign manager who will ensure our solicitation emails are submitted daily. I have a mailchimp account with 1000 Email Addresses. I have a landing page which has each social media platform we are on represented. My GoFundme link is also on my landing page. I have submitted both my gofundme page and website page to 200 search engines. I have submitted my initial press release to 200 search engines. I have 10,000 backlinks to my main site.
KW: Seems like you are way ahead of many other startups having prebuilt your supporters and search engine status. Care to tell us the tools you used and how much you’ve spent?
6F: I am using HootSuite and MailChimp to manage our supporters and have spent $3,500 promoting this campaign so far. it’s a considerable cost abut we are confident we will succeed.
